Hi @Claudette_Bradish, I got an email notification of your response. Well aware that a computer can be compromised in just a few moments of time, and while keyloggers are just one example, I believe it’s also possible for a hacker with advanced skills to gain access even without physically touching a computer? That’s why it’s never a good idea to log on to banking websites and such from a public hot spot, such as a café.
In any case, I had just grown weary of all the precautions, all the different ways hosting on ABB intruded into my privacy, quality of life, and this was the last straw.
As @konacoconutz mentioned, I basically stopped hosting after this incident, well, I think I hosted once more after this incident, and I have to say, I am not finding myself missing the income when compared to hundred little worries involved in hosting others in my home.
Perhaps if I had a stand alone unit, not a shared space, I would continue with Airbnb or other hosting, but the uncertainty of exactly what and who is going to show up on the doorstep is just too much for me to do anymore.
I have to say, that life post-ABB has given me the time to concentrate on learning new things as well as delving deeper into things I was already passionate about. Things that will serve me and my future self in a better way than the few bucks I was making with ABB.
