Since AirBnb is not helping you and guest is refusing to pay the full amount, then accept the $25 and write off the damages on your income taxes.
I am a former insurance adjuster. Damage by pets is or any animal is not covered by any insurance policy. I have no idea what ABB’s situation is with insurance, it is probably with an outside insurance provider.
True, but just to clarify, if it’s a shared listing where you live you can refuse any animal including a service dog if it’s for health or safety reasons…
Sure, you can give it a go. But the burden is then on you…and as you know from other threads, Airbnb isn’t in a hurry to take the host’s side. But, I understood @adrienne12 had an entire place since she was discussing what prior tenants had done.
There was another host, @jkamm, who had talked about her daughter’s severe allergies and that she helps her clean up the separate rental and even that seemed problematic.
As I’ve advised previously in this forum elsewhere, I’d say do what you can to discourage people with pets if you don’t want to take them but bottom line with people with service animals is that they have the protection of federal law.
