Guest is asking for airbnb credit for a future stay but my cancellation policy is strict?

Well she booked with the 50% off the one night. Not sure how to handle it if she decides to cancel her now two night stay again or alter it while staying with me. I tried rebooking the night that she cancelled when she did last time, and even at $29, I couldn’t find anyone to rebook.

No more refunds. I hope she turns out to be a good guest.

We have had folks needing to cancel with many different reasons. We have found it successful to:

1.) Mention the possibility to alter the reservation, or if that is not possible
2.) We will refund additional money if the rental unit is booked for the time they opened up - less processing fees.

Seems to work fairly well for us. If the guest just cancels and they have not communicated any reason we go with the strict cancellation policy and do not offer any refund.

We have not offered to apply any discount to a future stay. We just try to keep it simple.

She cancelled her stay again but this time because of a worsening medical issue. Now I’m scared she may be a liability in my house…

I feel for her but I’d be done. No more discounts. It’s not fair to you and you’ve possibly lost out on other bookings.
