Got a question on age requirement--how would you respond?

Got an inquiry from a young lady who wants to book with her boyfriend and asked me about minimum age requirement. So first I thought OK 18 to enter into a contract in my state. Then I thought whoa I need to research the statutory rape law in my state, I don’t want to facilitate anything illegal. I told her they must both be at least 18 a and thanked her for checking. What would you have done? This is not a youth = trashed space concern, I know 18 year olds who are more mature than some 50 year olds.

I think your response is best - all guests 18 or older (unless they’re accompanied by an adult).

And there is the rub. An 18 year old is an adult, so can they arrive with someone who is 16?

I had an eighteen year old from Sweden who travelled with her seventeen year old boyfriend.

Ha - yes, this is why I end up re-writing my description all the time to make things clear for the pedantic. So this would be better:

All parties must be over 18 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

I have had children come with Grandparents, children with their friends and friends parents.
