I suppose it’s wasteful, energy-wise, but I suggest to guests that they leave on the outside light (to the side of the door) if they’re going out in the evening.
Although there are other outside lights I think they are inadequate and like guests to come home and be able to easily see what they’re doing when using the keypad. Especially if they’ve had a few…
I also suggest to guests that they leave the light on outside their entrance if they think they might be out after dark. And as a homeshare host I am usually aware if they are still out after dark, so if I see they haven’t left the light on, I’ll go turn it on for them (the switch is outside under the light) , as well as the property entrance light.
