Escorted to leave prior to completing scheduled visit

There is also always maximum amount for a room. That should work as a stop sign right there.

Not fixed as of January 2017. I am a brand new host. I had my first guests book for five weeks, from Jan. 21 - Feb. 25. During this time they had an additional guest stay for about 7 nights (he came on weekends). Since he didn’t receive my verbal orientation information he took a shower in the clawfoot tub with the curtains outside the tub and water came through my ceiling, staining the ceiling. I pulled up my original listing and saw that it said “maximum guests 2” BUT “additional guest: no charge.” I had no idea until I searched further what this means. They were NOT allowed to have this additional person but that is totally confusing. Yes, how did that even get through the brains at AirBNB??

That is a super bad glitch they have that’s been there for as long as I remember. You have to take matters into your own hands and put some absurd amount like $1000 for each additional guest, and then also write it in your rules. Be firm. Only your approved and registered party may be on the property or in the apartment.

Why did you let them have an additional guest stay at weekends? Did you send them and amendment for the booking to pay for his stay?

I agree Lucy… just had an experience where 3 people come for a room with 1 queen size bed… they had a blow up mattress for the 3rd person. We clearly state the room accommodates 2 people only but they were insistent that on Airbnb on our listing it says "Extra People No Charge."
They pulled it up on their IPhone and showed us!
Not wanting to cause a Scene we backed down and allowsed it! Called Airbnb 2 X and they basically said we should have escorted them off our property! All this could be avoided if Airbnb fixed this on their site!

That ridiculous choice has been on their website since the beginning. I had it challenged once too and simply changed mine to $299 for each additional guest (the highest choice available.)

This 31 billion dollar company needs to fix these small things that can have big impacts…

@Katrooch

“Extra people, no charge”. I think this was probably a (poor) translation from another language…
