The doctor thing is over the top. Hotels don’t do this, why should you?

A tip I learned here. If your guest is AWOL at checkout time, let Airbnb intercede, not you. They can graciously negotiate an exit. And the tardiness is noted. A jerk might complain about a host calling an employer. And, that’s what Air is for.

Thank you, this was a direct booking from the hospital. I get a lot of business from them, but this was just ridiculous… especially wanting to come back in!

Dear jrjan1,
Never block the dates. A pre-approval isn’t a guarantee of a booking. If the potential guest doesn’t respond right away let someone else have it. Or, if you want to be nice, send them a message saying you will hold the dates for 24 hours, and if you don’t hear from them you will assume they found something else.
