Thank you for relating that experience. Yes, the request did make a certain sense to me. I mean after all, if the prospective guest would’ve booked for a month, that would be over a thousand dollars. But now I will know how to handle such future requests. A refund option makes sense to both host and guest.
Thank you for that insight. Yes, somewhere in the back of my mind I think I’ve read or heard about such statutes where “tenants” are difficult to get rid of.

It’s well worth bearing in mind. They were really nice people and had rented another apartment in our complex previously and their landlord recommended them. (They were great with him). But sadly they fell onto hard times financially.
You never know what can happen.
