Cleaning fees - why & when to charge?

My daughter is visiting when I’m out of town and will be my “cleaning contractor” for the next guest. So I made a list and ended up with 42 steps. OK not exactly comparable as my steps include “Announce in the bathroom ‘Die, germs, die!’” (that would be after the spraying step), “Water the plants with the water left in the electric kettle, if any,” and “Did previous guest leave a beer in the fridge? Drink it.” (that would be the last step).

Hi Zandra:

We do not broadly advertise or share it in writing. On occasion, we are
asked why we charge a cleaning fee and we explain our checklist verbally.
It’s never been an issue but I do see your point.
