Discrimination? Please explain. Do you not mean unfair? And is the reg fee based on square footage, for example, or # of bedrooms, etc?
The current government has publicly stated they don’t like the “foreign white owners” of villas, so we believe it’s really discrimination. The vast majority of the villa owners are foreigners and white. But it is definitely unfair.
No, the fees are not per square foot, or per bedroom, or per dollar property value, etc. it’s per category and they haven’t clearly defined categories.
It’s current in the Parliament for discussion and hasn’t passed yet, so hopefully it will get changed before it’s finalized to be something more equitable.
