Thanks to all who corrected me that flying the stars and stripes does not necessarily mean one is a right-wing nationalist. I’m glad you aren’t letting those folks co-opt the symbol as exclusively their own.

Well, that is a symbol of inclusion. It doesn’t carry any possible implication of “heterosexuals aren’t welcome here”. If a host (or guest for that matter) puts wording in their profile making their beliefs clear, and those beliefs are ones of non-judgement and inclusion, great.

If it’s along the lines of “We’re Christians and welcome those who hold our beliefs”, I have no idea of whether their “Christian” beliefs are white nationalism, anti-gay, anti-abortion, and ‘moral majority’ views, or true Christian values of love and tolerance for all.

We have to tread a fine line here in the depths of conservative Spain, don’t want to see the macho clowns with torches and pitchforks in our street.
