As a superhost am I required to rent to known Prostitutes?

I wish that worked. Had a couple of Koreans who did early check in and late check out. They stayed in the room whole time, really whole time, they bought instant noodles and soup and ate in the bedroom all meals, only out to pee and shower several times a day, closed Windows not talking to anyone, meanwhile my family was in the living area most time over the weekend. When they checked out? Yea, I got the proof of what they were doing, I must say ‘bleach’ smell all over the room. So, I wish our kid meant more respect from them

WOW! Gives new meaning to “GET A ROOM!” (but not in someone’s private home!!!)

Were they noisy? Did the your kid ask why they never came out?

During the day they were not noise, but during the night I don’t know, from our bedroom we cannot hear what goes on in that guest bedroom. My daughter did ask why they were never out because she loves to interact with the guests especially the foreigners. I had to make up the excuse that they were probably exhausted from the flight (a 3-4hour flight) …

Exhausted from their flight all right… From the mile high club,

Hahaha hahahayea like that

Firstly, back in Dec-15 I joined this forum to share a story about how my listing fell victim to Escorts and Pimps disguising under fake profiles. Upon posting I was immediately attacked by numerous members. I was called a liar, troll, anti-airbnb, etc. Some members refused to believe and demanded screenshot proof. As per their demand I uploaded screenshot. They still accused me of BS story and one particular member Ry aka E*n (who is a superhost in my city by the way) continued to discredit me on other unrelated threads I was robbed by my AirBnb guests, what now?.

*Tom (admin) deleted my post after I gave him consent to do whatever he wanted.

Secondly, my experience with Airbnb’s support team was different. Despite providing plenty of proof that the person who booked / and standing right outside of my condo with his ‘foreign gal’ was a pimp Airbnb still let his account remain active. (I did not let him in and he booked a hotel instead) Last time I checked his profile (using message history) he completed a few more stays after cancellation.

Thirdly, I still get inquiries from escorts (all via vrbo/homeaway because creating a traveller account requires zero identification check). Many attempted to book using credit cards NOT matching their names. (vrbo/ha allows your to see the name of credit card holder when booked). If you have suspicious last minute bookings make sure to check the name of credit card after booking is made.

Lastly, short term rentals have become a valuable source for Escorts. Property managers who manage Airbnb listings often use Escort-channel to fill in empty nights in exchange for cash/barter behind condo owners’ back. There was a listing used for Bukake-Run by a local escort who obviously didnt want to use her own space. Go check out your city’s escort-review forums (where men upload elaborate reviews on escorts they spent time with). Escorts rely on Airbnb for their ‘rental’ income as much as we do.

Just another comment to the many already listed, if there was known illegal activity happening on my property and it was discovered, I would most likely lose my professional license and not be able to work in my chosen career.

@torohost , I kind of remember your post. Were you the one who lost everything to theft? The member you are referring to (Re…y) left a while back, making a grand exit. hopefully you will give the forum another chance and come back. You’ll find the atmosphere a lot nicer. The nasty ones don’t seem to stick around too long.

Did you just wake up after a few months sleeping in the Catskills and posted the first incoherent thought that came to your mind? What are you talking about?

Wow @melly_c I think this is a textbook case of displacement. Not to defend their sexist jokes, but lord have mercy I do think you have missed your target in attacking Mearns.

You come across as one certifiable nutcase, and I could tell from your inexplicable mental pattern you also have posted under another pseudonym, and made a similar and just as an irrational post a few months ago. You should be working on getting a sense of humor, not worrying about Geoff and I, for starters.

This would be a great story for the media, if you can stand all of the attention.

In California, proposition 35 could leave you with a $1.5 million dollar fine and 15+ years in prison for renting to someone who you know is a prostitute. As a landlord, you’re profiting from her prostitution, which means you’re “trafficking” her, you see…

Seriously speaking, I 'think" had a somewhat similar situation a year ago as Alan did. She booked, and she will have 3 ‘family members’ with her (all young guys) and they were all quite coy about their names, where from or how they were related. The whole scene was way off. From there on it made me that much more cautious as to who I rented to.

Don’t really care who that jerk is.

Thought this place was one of support.

I came here just hours after having a VERY stressful time with this escort involving the police and thousands of dollars damage looking for advice on what to do in a similar situation.

Then while reading through the comments seeing two idiots say " send them our way" showed a definite lack of empathy or intelligent thought.

Then to be called insane after it.
Yeah. Great "community " support
I only hope they get their wish.

To the others with actual advice on the situation as opposed to unhelpful comments . Thank you.

Your angry post to me was indeed irrational because it was really base on an innocent joke Geoff made in passing 5 months ago (March 29th)! You supposedly just went through a similar situation, but your first move was to appoint yourself a crusader to ~retroactively~ ‘fix’ a past thread on the same subject that should have followed your personal agenda; namely that there shall be no humor when discussing this subject. Perhaps you should absorb the posts that are useful and applicable to your recent experience, and skip the morality play.

You also seem to expect (actually demand) ‘support’ from the community which I certainly do not represent, and which has not even heard YOUR story yet nor still has a clue what is suppose to ‘support’, but then you pass collective judgement on it based on only my reaction to your personal attack. Why do I get the impression you are just dying to play the role of a victim?

Why don’t you start anew and tell everyone here your story and skip getting into personalities.

Why in the world is “prostitute” wrong and “sex worker” correct? Are you now the CEO of the English language?

I don’t quite understand why you just joined here only to be rude.

No I am not ‘the CEO of the English language’ but as most people know, the word ‘prostitute’ is seen as being politically incorrect these days. This is in exactly the same way that other certain words that were once in common use are no longer considered to be polite.

And before you ask, no I am not a person who is unbearably politically correct but this is a forum that is public and in public it’s always a good idea to moderate your language to the social norm.

Of course, we could go back to using these offensive terms but as you;'re new to this forum I might as well point out that we do not do so here.
