You may reserve a listing without paying anything at the time of booking and pay the full amount of your reservation at a later time prior to check-in, as long as your trip is eligible and Reserve Now, Pay Later is available on the checkout page. Reserve Now, Pay Later is available only for listings with certain cancellation policies.
Note for hosts: The terms of your listing’s cancellation policy do not change, nor will the amount you receive upon the guests’ cancellation. Reserve Now, Pay Later is available only for listings with a moderate or flexible cancellation policy."
So guests can now block our calendars with a reservation they haven’t paid anything for?
And how long before check-in date do they have to pay?
Would certainly like to know if they would be allowed to do that. As far as I am aware, if a guest tries to “reserve” another listing for the same dates as the first one, they get some pop-up wording cautioning them that they could be charged for both bookings.
So just because they don’t have to pay when they book, doesn’t necessarily mean they wouldn’t be charged for both if they cancel past the free cancellation date.
But this certainly will encourage non-serious bookers to “reserve” a place they only think they “might” want to travel to, blocking one’s calendar to serious bookers, if they don’t have to part with any money when they book.
