Altering or Cancelling a Booking as a Superhost

No, there shouldn’t. If you plan a family vacation and an IB comes through within minutes, then no, no penalties. It’s easy to arm chair coach and point fingers, but it happens. Should they have turned off IB while making plans? Blocked the days before? Maybe, but there are too many moving parts to do the blame thing here.

Penalty free, contact guest and explain and ask them to cancel.
