I must be the only person here who finds a TV mounted on the wall or even visible at all when not in use to be aesthetically offensive. It’s one thing if it’s in a room that is dedicated to TV or movie watching, games, etc. but in a living room or bedroom? That’s just really ugly to me.

My living room TV is in the middle of a wall of book and CD shelving, so it doesn’t stick out. All the AV equipment including my home brew DVR/TV server, CD and BlueRay players, and 5.1 channel AV receiver, is in a separate rack with a black glass door. It’s aesthetically more intrusive, with its LEDs and receiver display, than the 37 inch screen.
I find that now that I’m spending more time in the office, I just watch DVR recordings and live TV in a window on this 43 inch 4K screen.
