I agree that having a toaster is a good addition as you have one spare anyway. But consider the space it will go in - you don’t want to end up with the kitchenette becoming cluttered and not enough work surface space to safely put the plates/ mugs etc whilst using the fantastic appliances you have provided.
Definitely don’t provide the bread/butter etc etc - it seems like such an easy thing to do, but certainly here in the UK, allergies and best before dates and whether someone might have tampered with stuff are a minefield and just giving a reason for guests to get upset…
Although the toaster is free, a small toaster oven would be a lot more useful than just a toaster. You might find some guests do crazy things with just a toaster - try to toast leftover pizza or make a toasted cheese sandwich.
Remember the old Johnny Depp movie “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?” where he makes grilled cheese sandwiches on the ironing board by pressing them with a hot iron?
But the idea of not having something to ‘cook’ in is why my guests rave about how the place is clean and does not smell from cooking smells.
I had my Viking oven available to guests when I started; I got a smoke alarm, went into the kitchen, and found a woman sitting at the table waiting for her pizza - which was in the oven IN THE BOX THE PIZZA WAS DELIVERED IN. As we all know, there is a special place in ‘heaven’ for hosts who have to deal with the everyday guest - and a special place in the VIP lounge in ‘heaven’ for hosts who get dinged a star like this guest in her review: “Stove was smokey”
We put ours under the sink since our counters are small and they can get it out as needed but I think its a great addition. We have a toaster oven, microwave and a toaster.
