Love it, Rebecca. 
I think you’re right that some people can find us to be curt (I know I can be) but readers must try to remember that we are busy hosts ourselves so are often replying as quickly as we can between the millions of jobs we have to do so we tend to get to the point, forgetting the niceties. (That’s me anyway).
Also for some of us who often reply from our phones, we’ve got to deal with getting-old eyesight and aging thumbs on that tiny keyboard.
