A Guru is not a synonym for a specialist @amyyvonne a Guru is a Sanskrit term for someone who is a “teacher, guide, expert, or master”; a revered figure and an inspirational source of knowledge who helps with others spiritual evolution…is that really how you see yourself
If you were a long standing member of this forum who had provided lots of useful advice and support, people may have been willing to give you advice on how to start your business or you may have had some credibility.
However by calling yourself a ‘guru’ and coming on here trying to sell your services without having proved your worth is rather arrogant.
As someone who purports to understand how to market BNB listings you show a distinct lack of knowledge about how to market yourself and build your personal brand.
But this thread has been soooo entertaining to read (sorry 4 going off topic) but OMG the replies to this guru/expert/hosting wizard are phenomenal
I just wanted to say hi to everyone and thank you all for a great start!
Apart from that I did go through a lot of threads prior to registrating and I learned a great deal about the many aspects of hosting - for freeeee so thanx for the many great subjects. I’ll def stick around and contribute as constructively as I possibly can.
If you want to help, you are better off simply participating in the discussion and not promoting your fivver business. Promotion is not allowed. It’s spam. So please don’t.
Yes… and normally we do, but this thread has been a bit too amusing to remove.
DO flag them in the future and we will see it and remove it right away. The forum also has a built in spam blocker but sometimes things slip through like this one did.
This reminds of the millenials nowadays who think they are more proficient in computers versus their grandparents who have been using them for ages. I admit I am no computer tech geek and would never profess to be.
But I know many people well over 50 on this forum could whip together complicated excel spreadsheets, word docs, etc. and run circles around the average millenial who claims to be “proficient” in Microsoft Office.
I so agree! I created my first website in 1996 when many of today’s twenty year olds weren’t even born
In my previous corporate job it used to amaze me how many job-seeking youngsters claimed that they were computer literate because they could write an email, post to Facebook and use Microsoft Word.
