I like to get dramatic. I pull my T-shirt up over my nose and give them a wide berth. It actually does smell horrific and it clings to everything.

Church St in downtown Burlington Vt has no smoking in the several block long marketplace. You can smoke on a side street.
I absolutely HATE smoking, but my girlfriend smokes. She has cut way back, but she still has the smell of smoke in her hair. She only smokes a ways from our apartment or where ever weāre staying, and I insist she break up her cig and dispose of it properly, not wipping it into the streetā¦ And she washes her hands and brushes her teeth, but I guess I canāt get her to wash her beautiful golden locksā¦
